Test Result's for the Berkey Water System
This section highlights the Berkey® Systems, which utilize Black Berkey® Elements and are widely recognized as the top choice for gravity-fed water filtration.
Contaminants Addressed |
Black Berkey® Elements reduce trihalomethanes, inorganic minerals, heavy metals, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, VOCs, petroleum products, perfluorinated chemicals, rust, silt, sediment, and even radiological. (view the entire list of contaminants) |
Product Dimensions | 2.25 " x 2.25 " x 9.75 " |
Composition | Composition of carbon, containing high-grade coconut shell combined with a proprietary blend of 5 other media. |
Lifespan | We recommend replacing Black Berkey® Filters every 3,000 gallons (6,000 per set of 2 elements). Elements may require replacement sooner based on the quality of the influent water. |
The Black Berkey® Elements are engineered to significantly decrease various impurities in water, such as inorganic minerals, heavy metals, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, volatile organic compounds, petroleum products, perfluorinated chemicals, rust, silt, sediment, and even radiologicals. It is recommended to replace the Black Berkey® Elements after filtering 3,000 gallons of water (or 6,000 gallons per set of 2 elements). However, if the influent water quality is poor, the elements may need to be replaced sooner. To further reduce fluoride and arsenic, Berkey PF-2™ Fluoride and Arsenic Reduction Elements can be added to each Black Berkey® Element.
